City Hall Access Limited to Appointment Only. Community Center Closed. Board & Commission Meetings Postponed. 

In an effort to protect the public and City employees, city hall is accessible by appointment only during regular business hours. Board & Commission Meetings and Municipal Court have been postponed until further notice. Kirkwood Electric & Kirkwood Water will not be doing shut-offs, and late fees for utility payments will be waived. The Community Center (including the ice rink) and Kirkwood Train Station are closed until further notice. Amtrak service has not been suspended.

Kirkwood Freedom Festival & Fireworks

Kirkwood's annual July 4th celebration, known as the "Freedom Festival," takes place on July 4th every year in Kirkwood Park.  The event culminates with a fireworks display at dark (approx. 9:20pm.)

2019 July 4th Information

  • Live Musical Entertainment by Fanfare begins at 7pm.
  • Locoz Tacoz, Steak Louie, Curbside Cookery, Nothing Bundt Cakes, The Southerner and Frankly Sausages Food Trucks will begin serving at 5pm.
  • Kirkwood Lions will have soda, water and beer available for purchase.
  • Accessible parking is available in the Tennis Court parking lot at the corner of Adams and Geyer.
