CRP- 5502(617) - Grant's Trail Extension, Phase 2 |
Limits: |
In Phase 2 there is one street crossing and one at-grade railroad crossings on the alignment: This project will incorporate Bioswales and Rain Gardens along the greenway trail route to the extent possible within the right of way and grading constraints. These BMP's will help address both water quality and added runoff from the new impervious trail pavement. The project will use native and context sensitive plantings along the entire length of the project. The Phase 2 trail is connected to the Kirkwood Bike Network with Phase 1 Calm Street (Neighborhood Greenway) improvements (included in TIP# 7274-24 / Federal Aid No. TAP-5502(616) project. Those improvements are located on Leffingwell south to the Leffingwell/Clinton intersection and then west on Clinton to Filmore Park. A raised crosswalk will be included on the west side of Leffingwell at Clinton to calm traffic. In addition, at Creekside Place, a raised crosswalk will be added to calm traffic and connect the street to Fillmore Park. The Calm Streets connection will provide a connection to the Kirkwood bike Network at the Filmore/Clinton intersection. The bike and sidewalk network provides access to many destinations including the Magic House which is on the Kirkwood Bike Network, less than a block west of the improvements. |
