• Kirkwood Zoning Matters signs are placed along property frontages when there is an active petition prior to the initial agenda date. For information about an application on an upcoming or past agenda, go to the City's Meetings Calendar to find the meeting date. Select the meeting and click "View Details." Each meeting will have an agenda and a meeting packet available.

The P&Z Commission is made up of nine volunteer residents appointed by the Mayor and City Council for four-year terms. The Commission is responsible for analyzing, reviewing, and making recommendations on zoning matters to the City Council for the following application types:

• Commercial Site Plan Reviews
• Rezonings
• Special Use Permits
• Subdivision of Property
• Community Unit Plans
• Zoning Code Amendments

On February 18, 2021, the City Council approved the updated Zoning, Subdivision, and Sign Codes along with revised administrative sections related to the Architectural Review Board and Board of Adjustment. The adopted versions of these code sections can be found on the City's eCode page here:  https://ecode360.com/KI3621.

An appointment with City Staff is required prior to the submittal of an application. The pre-submittal meeting will assist with application preparation and help to prevent delays in its process and review. A schedule of submittal deadlines and meeting dates can be found in the "Quick Tips" section of this webpage.

After the pre-application meeting and review of your application materials, you will apply through the City's Public Portal.

• Once you've registered, you can click "Apply" and find the relevant Planning & Zoning application under "Plans".  Click here to access the online portal.
