Volunteer Coaches Needed
Our crying need
is for coaches! If you are interested in coaching, please contact
the Parks and Recreation Department and let us know of your
interest. If you feel coaching is too much, but would be
interested in serving as a manager, please let us know. We can
let you know if there is already a team from your grade level and
school, and get you "networked" with them, or, if there is a not a
team, help you get started with organizing your own. Get in touch
with us now! By phone 314-984-6966 or email
Don LaChance.

Youth
Soccer League (2nd - 8th Grades)
The Kirkwood Parks and
Recreation Department is proud to sponsor the Youth Soccer
League. The league features recreational soccer play for youth
who will be in grades 2-8 during the upcoming school year.
The
Kirkwood School District is not a sponsor for this program.
Teams will be divided
by grade from the second through sixth grade when possible, while 7th and 8th
grade teams may participate in the same division together. In
all leagues boys and girls play together. Teams in the 2nd
through 5th grade are required to have 20% of their roster, or a
minimum of three (whichever is greater) female players as active
participants. Coed divisions for teams in grades 6-8 which meet
these requirements will be offered.
Each team will be
scheduled for six to eight hour-long games during the season that
will run from September 22 through November 17 Most games
will be played during the day on Saturdays. Games are scheduled
at Kirkwood Park, Greentree Park, or Kirkwood School District
fields.
A fee of $250 for
resident teams, and $265 for non-resident teams will be assessed
each team at the beginning of the season. This fee covers
officiating, field costs, game balls, and awards. Teams are responsible for their own uniforms
and practice equipment.
For this program, the Parks and
Recreations Department serves as organizer of the league structure
only. Players and their parents are encouraged to form their own
teams by talking to classmates and neighbors. If players have no
success in finding a team, they can call the Parks and Recreation
Department office to be placed on an unregistered-players list.
Such players will be placed on teams if and when positions become
available.
Teams must be registered by Wednesday, September 15th for
returning teams New Teams please call 314-984-6966 .

Recreation Department office at 314-984-6966.

be forwarded to them. A COACHES/TEAM MANAGERS meeting will
be held at the Kirkwood Community Center on Wednesday,
