Crestwood-Kirkwood
Youth Theatre
Crestwood-Kirkwood Youth Theatre is sponsored by the Kirkwood
and Crestwood Parks and Recreation Departments, and produced by
Stephanie Hardesty, Recreation Supervisor for the Kirkwood Parks and
Recreation Department, and Amy Meyer, Recreation Supervisor for
the Crestwood Parks and Recreation. This community theater group
performs two productions per year (four performances per
production)- one in April and one in December. For each show, a
director, musical director and choreographer is hired, as well as
a stage manager and light and sound technicians. The cast for each
show is comprised of 60 to 80 youth and teens between the ages of
6 and 18. Rehearsals run for two months before the show opens.
Parent involvement includes set building and painting, costume
work, and various duties during the show. Performances are held at
the Robert G. Reim Theater in Kirkwood Park. For ticket
information please call the Kirkwood Community Center at
314-822-5855.
Crestwood-Kirkwood Youth Theater is an excellent opportunity
for youth interested in the performing arts. It is a wonderful
learning experience in all aspects of community theater, as well
as a chance for social interaction.
