Call to Order
Dave Freese called the meeting to order at
6:05 p.m.
Approval of Minutes
Terry Bryant made a motion to approve the
minutes of November 27, 2007. Walter Smith seconded the motion.
All were in favor.
Citizen Comments
Michael Moore was present but did not have
any comments.
Old Business
Art Manse distributed a flyer with dates of
Meacham Park Neighborhood Improvement Association meeting dates.
Sunday 1/27/08 is their winter celebration. All meetings take
place at Turner School.
Terry Bryant inquired if the Salvation Army
would be once again conducting their multi-cultural celebration
at the community center. Staff indicated that they would check
with Parks and Recreation and report back.
Paul Ward entered the meeting at 6:18 p.m.,
shortly followed by Mayor Swoboda.
New Business
There was a discussion of what celebrations
might be going forward to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.’s
birthday. The STL Post Dispatch calendar listed an event at the
Touhill center at UMSL. Staff encouraged members to check the
local papers for more local events.
The committee continued a discussion from
last month concerning how to improve the feeling of
connectedness that residents of Meacham Park feel to the broader
Kirkwood community.
Adjournment
Dave Freese moved to adjourn. Art Manse
seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
The next meeting date was set for March
18, 2008.
