Council Subcommittee On Infill & Residential Construction Meeting Minutes

Call to Order
Tim Griffin called the meeting to order at
4:34 p.m.
Approval of Minutes
Joe Godi moved approval of the minutes of
the August 29, 2007 meeting. Iggy Yuan seconded the motion. All
were in favor.
Old Business
None.
New Business
Tim Griffin asked Public Works Director Ken
Yost to walk the committee through some recommendations from the
Planning and Zoning Commission.
PZ-13-07
The Planning and Zoning Subcommittee report
dated February 7, 2007 included recommendations to amend the
Zoning Code for lot coverage from 30% in R-1, R-2, and R-3 to 25
% and in R-4 from 35% to 25%; and to add a Floor Area Ratio
(FAR) limit of 0.40 for primary structures excluding garage area
in the R-1, R-2, R-3 and R-4 zoning districts; and to require a
review by the Architectural Review Board of all new
single-family residential building permit applications with
guidelines established by a professional architectural firm.
PZ-33-05
The Planning and Zoning Subcommittee report
dated September 6, 2006 included recommendations for front entry
garages on lots of 55 foot wide or less. Only one sidewall of
the residential portion of the structure shall extend beyond the
sidewall of the attached garage. The front face of an attached
garage shall not project more than 10 feet beyond the front face
of the residential portion of the house.
PZ-14-07
The Planning and Zoning Subcommittee report
dated December 6, 2006 offered several recommended changes to
the R-5 multi-family zoning district. The infill subcommittee
decided not to discuss this report at this time.
The committee discussed PZ-13-07 and
PZ-33-05. There was discussion of the format for the upcoming
public forums.

in the council chambers on September 13, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
