  Board of Adjustment Minutes

Kirkwood City Hall Council Chambers, 139 S. Kirkwood Rd, June 9, 2008 – 7:00 P.M

Present:  Gerald DeWulf, Chairman, Tom Teasdale, Lynn Allen, James Myers and Susan Waters

City Attorney:  Andrew Buchanan                              

Court Reporter:  Eileen Bell

Staff Member Present: Tony Carvalho

The meeting was called to order and roll called.  Board procedure was explained and minutes from the previous meeting were approved without change. Cases were then called as follows:

New Business

Case No. 12-2008  John & Melisa Simpson; applicant/owner of 533 Woodard Dr., (R-4 Zoning District) request a variance for a parking space that will not conform to the front yard setback of the Zoning Ordinance. Unanimously Approved

Case No. 13-2008  Jackie & Bob Grothe; applicant/owner of 109 Dickson St., (R-3 Zoning District)  wishes to construct an addition that will not conform to the West side yard setback of the Zoning Ordinance. Unanimously Denied

Case No. 14-2008 Donald Anderson, applicant; Mike Mahn, owner of 639 E. Jefferson Ave, (R-3 Zoning District) wishes to construct a detached 2-car garage that will not conform to the rear yard setback of the Zoning Ordinance. Unanimously Approved

Case No. 15-2008  Steve Martin, applicant; Charles T. Wood, owner of 3 Norton Pl., (R-4 Zoning District) wishes to construct a new single-family residence that will not conform to the front and rear yard setbacks of the Zoning Ordinance. Front yard setback – unanimously approved; Rear yard setback – unanimously denied

* James Myers was elected as the new Board of Adjustment Chairman effective at the July 14, 2008 meeting.
