The St. Louis Community College - Meramec - is located within the City of Kirkwood. There were
13,217 full-time and part-time students attending for credit courses during the fall semester, 2001.  
There were 36,795 registrations for non-credit courses during the fall semester 2001.  These
numbers included 120 students dually enrolled in area high schools.
St. Joseph Hospital is located within the City of Kirkwood and is a full-service institution with a
bed capacity of 332.
The library serving the Kirkwood area is independently administered and operated by the Kirkwood
Library Board.
The sewer system within the city of Kirkwood is owned and maintained by the Metropolitan St.
Louis Sewer District.
