Welcome to the City of Kirkwood, Missouri, Business License web page. This web page provides information on how you can obtain a license to operate a business in the City of Kirkwood.

Per Chapter 13 of the Kirkwood City Ordinances, all businesses operating within the City of Kirkwood are required to obtain a business license. Our desire is to make this process as user-friendly as possible. The City of Kirkwood has many different types of business licenses:
If your business is not listed on the flat fee business schedule, your business fee will be calculated based on your gross receipts from the previous year. Businesses that are calculated on the gross receipts basis are charged $1.00 per thousand of gross receipts with a minimum fee of $35.00 If, however, your business is located within the Downtown Kirkwood Special Business District (SBD), your fee is $1.50 per thousand of gross receipts.
