The Kirkwood School District is a very well-regarded and recognized school district. The district has received the Distinction in Performance Award for academic performance each year since the State of Missouri’s highest recognition was established in 2001. Kirkwood seniors graduating in 2014 had an average ACT composite test score of 24 which ranks among the top ten in the state of Missouri and a 98.7% graduation rate, the highest in school history. There are 5 elementary schools, 2 middle schools and 1 high school. Total district enrollment in 2013-2014 was 6,508 students.

Higher Education
St. Louis Community College – Kirkwood (Meramec) Campus
The largest campus in the St Louis Community College System with a total enrollment of almost 9,000 students, STLCC-Meramec is home to the Center of Visual Technology, a state-of-the-art instruction laboratory. The campus offers five types of degrees and two types of certificates. Associate degrees are offered for the following: Associate in Arts, Associate in Fine Arts, Associate in Science, Associate of Arts in Teaching and Associate in Applied Science. Students can also complete a Certificate of Proficiency or Certificate of Specialization in a number of different fields of study.
