KPAC Volunteer Opportunities

Roll up your sleeves and let's get started!  Volunteering with KPAC is a great way to discover your parks and get outdoors. There is no experience required to volunteer, just come ready to help. Park staff will teach you everything you need to know about tool use and safety. For more information about volunteering, call (314) 984-5993 or email kparkv@kirkwoodmo.org. Here are all the ways you can get involved as a volunteer.

Individual Volunteer

Garden in Kirkwood Park or in the Special Business District at downtown Kirkwood. Staff horticulturists lead volunteers as they perform a variety of gardening tasks. Volunteers make a commitment to volunteer one day a week, Monday-Thursday from  8:00 am-11:00 am. Activities include planting weeding, trimming, pruning, deadheading, collecting seeds and other activities as needed. Gardening tools are provided. This volunteer opportunity is open from March-November for individuals 14 years of age and older.

To get started as a weekday volunteer, simply complete the volunteer application and return it to the Volunteer Coordinator for consideration. You will be contacted to discuss your interests and the best placement for your talents. Individuals under the age of 18 must complete the minor volunteer application.

Adopt-A-Park

Individuals, families groups and businesses can join KPAC's Adopt-A-Park program to help preserve on of the City of Kirkwood's 13 parks. Volunteers can adopt an entire park or a portion of a park such as a trail or landscape zone. Your efforts will help keep the adopted park clean for all to enjoy.

Monthly Events

KPAC hosts a weekend activity once a month. This is a  great way for individuals, families, groups and organizations to get involved if you are not able to make a weekly commitment.

Community Service Opportunities and Group Activities

Whether it’s fostering teamwork, creating environmental awareness, or building community spirit; Kirkwood’s many park locations are a perfect setting for your next community service project.  Organizations like yours are helping care for parks by restoring natural habitats, maintaining landscapes or improving walking trails. Fill out the Community Service Group Volunteer Project Request Form to get started.  You will be contacted about arranging your project once your form has been received.

Individuals needing to complete court order community service hours should contact Kyle Henke, Recreation Superintendent, at (314) 822-5856 or henkekk@kirkwoodmo.org

Boy and Girl Scout Projects

KPAC welcomes scouts interested in community service projects or earning merit badges. Simply call (314) 984-5993 or email kparkv@kirkwoodmo.org to set up a project. Individuals working towards an Eagle Scout or Gold Star rank should submit the Project Request Form to get started.
