Police vehicles on the course serve only to alert uninvolved motorists that extra caution is needed. When available, uniformed personnel will be at major congestion points along the course to assist you. For your safety, we ask that you adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Always keep to the extreme outside edge of the roadway, as far as possible away from the portion used for vehicular traffic. If moving with the flow of traffic, try to remain alert for overtaking vehicles and be prepared to take evasive action.

2. When approaching any intersecting roadway or driveway, be prepared to stop if necessary.

3. Do not cross any intersection or change from one side of the road to the other, unless you have personally checked to make sure it is clear.

4. No route support is available after 9:15 a.m., so walkers should plan to participate in the 3-mile course.
