Robert G. Reim Theater
The Robert G. Reim Theater, located in the Kirkwood Community Center, hosts two outstanding theatrical groups and is the host facility for the Kirkwood Youth Theater program. Kirkwood Youth Theater
Kirkwood Youth Theater is sponsored by the Kirkwood Parks and Recreation Department and produced by Laura Thal, Recreation Supervisor for Kirkwood Parks and Recreation. This community theater group performs two productions per year, with four performances per production, in April and December. For each show, a director, musical director, and choreographer are hired, as well as a stage manager and light and sound technicians. The cast for each show is comprised of 60 to 80 youth and teens. Rehearsals run for two months before the show opens. Parent involvement includes set building and painting, costume work, and various duties during the show. Performances are held at the Robert G. Reim Theater at the Kirkwood Community Center in Kirkwood Park. For ticket information, please call the Kirkwood Community Center at 314-822-5855.
Kirkwood Youth Theater provides an excellent opportunity for youth interested in the performing arts. It is a wonderful learning experience in all aspects of community theater, as well as a chance for social interaction.
