PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION
  • Review subdivision proposals and make recommendations to the City Council

  • Review special use permits and make recommendations to the City Council

  • Hold public hearings for community unit proposals and B-4 development plans and make recommendations to the City Council

  • Review applications for rezoning and make recommendations to Council

  • Review proposed zoning changes from the City Council and applicants

NOTE: All commercial zoning cases heard before Planning & Zoning are recorded on the city's "Kirkwood Zoning Matters" system. KZM is a 24-hour telephone information line that provides recorded information on upcoming commercial zoning cases before P&Z. To access KZM, dial 984-5959. Real-estate sized signs are placed in front of properties where commercial zoning issues are pending. Each sign bears a 3-digit code assigned to that property. The 3-digit code is referenced in the recording on the phone message and provides information as to what type of zoning issue is being considered for that property.
