DONATIONS ACCEPTED FOR FAMILIES OF SLAIN KIRKWOOD EMPLOYEES AND ELECTED OFFICIALS

Kirkwood, Missouri – Thursday, February 14, 2008 – The City of Kirkwood has received an immense outpouring of support and sympathy following the devastating events of Thursday, February 7. Many have asked where they can make donations on behalf of the elected officials and city staff killed that night. With much gratitude we provide the following information:

To assist the families of Kirkwood Police Officer Tom Ballman and Kirkwood Police Sergeant Bill Biggs donations may be made to Backstoppers, 10411 Clayton Road, St. Louis, MO 63131. Because Backstoppers can only assist families of police officers and firefighters, accounts have been set up with Eagle Bank for the families of Kirkwood Public Works Director Ken Yost and Kirkwood City Council members Connie Karr and Mike Lynch. Donations made payable to “Eagle Bank” will be accepted at any Eagle Bank branch or they can be sent to Eagle Bank, 1052 S. Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood MO 63122. Donors may specify who their donation is for on the memo line of the check. Donations received by Eagle Bank without directions will be divided equally between the families of Ken Yost, Connie Karr, and Mike Lynch.
