  Kirkwood In The News --
Recent News Release From The City

2nd Public Forum on Infill Housing and Neighborhood Preservation October 6

Kirkwood, Missouri – Friday, September 21, 2007 -- Concern over how to preserve the character of residential neighborhoods when they are impacted by demolitions, new construction, additions, and rehabbing, is a recurring topic in Kirkwood and other municipalities across the country.

The second of two public forums will take place on Saturday, October 6, 2007, at 9:30 a.m. The forum will be held at the City Hall Council Chambers, 139 South Kirkwood Road. The October 6 forum, along with the first one that took place on September 13, are being coordinated by the City Council’s subcommittee on infill housing and residential construction. The public is strongly encouraged to attend and to offer constructive suggestions on how to balance preservation efforts with present-day housing trends. City staff as well as subcommittee members will be present to provide answers and follow-up information as needed during the forum discussions.

Subcommittee meetings, as well as the public forums, are posted on the city’s website, www.ci.kirkwood.mo.us, under “meetings and agendas.” Minutes of these forums are posted under “meetings and agendas/City Council.”
