The Kirkwood Landmarks Commission presents the
9th Annual Favorite Building Awards May 9th

Architecture makes visible the values that a community holds.

When architectural treasures are saved, the effect on civic spirit

often surpasses the importance of the structures themselves.

Kirkwood, Missouri -- Monday, April 23, 2007 – The 9th Annual Favorite Building Awards will be presented on Wednesday May 9, 2007, at 7 p.m. by the Kirkwood Landmarks Commission. This year, the awards ceremony will be held at the historic Kirkwood Train Station in downtown Kirkwood. The public is warmly invited to attend to find out more about these beautiful landmark properties that are being honored this year. May is National Historic Preservation month.

Buildings or places need not be a “designated” Kirkwood Landmark to be nominated for an award. The members of the Kirkwood Landmarks Commission reviewed all nominations. “These winners are deserving of recognition because they contribute to the visual character of the Kirkwood architectural community,” commented Landmarks Chair Patricia Jones.
